is the Internet?
A: The Internet is a
network of networks. It consists of over
40,000 autonomous networks. When you connect
to the Internet, your computer becomes a part of
this world-wide network of computers. |
| Q: How
can I keep track of my Internet usage?
A: To check your time
click here.
The time usage is by calendar month, the 1st through
the last day of the month. Customers are responsible
for keeping track of their own used time, you will
not be automatically changed to the next package
if you have overage. Overage is billed at
$2.00 per hour in 6 minute increments. Call
763.262.4100 to change your package.

is a web browser?
A:
A web browser is the software that allows you to
navigate around the world wide web (www). Browsers
would include Netscape Navigator and Microsoft
Internet Explorer. Connections, Etc. gives
you your choice on a disc when you sign up for
your service.

is a search engine?
A: A search engine enables
you to sort through the information on the www
and will help you locate the information you are
searching for. It will help narrow your search
by selecting topic areas such as business, food,
travel, etc,. Examples of search engines
are www.yahoo.com, www.webcrawler.com and www.askjeeves.com. |

is my outgoing mail server?

I get additional e-mail addresses?
A: Yes. Go to mail.izoom.net

I disable my call waiting while I am on the Internet?
A: Your call waiting
can be disabled by using *70. This is a per
call disablement. If your phone line is connected
to your company switchboard/PBX you may need to
dial an outside line (e.g.dial "9") as
part of the modem call set-up program. |
| Q: Why
do I get an error message when dialing in?
A: If you subscribe
to Call Answering with Connections, Etc. you must
listen to all new messages before you can log onto
the Internet. Most PC's don't recognize the
stutter dial tone that indicates new messages. |

checking for new mail I get and error message that
says "The mail server responded the password
supplied is incorrect?"
A: Check your Caps Lock
button. The Internet is case sensitive and
your password must be lower case.
